Second Life is touted as a 3-D virtual world entirely built and owned by its residents. It seems to be successful, but I have read a lot of negative things about it. I have heard it is a very odd community compared to other similar MMO virtual worlds. If you somehow haven’t heard of Second Life be warned that it seems to be a cyber-crazed world that you may want to read up on before you give it a try.
At one point it was suffering from some crashes, and the game was down for some maintenance. Minutes after the game was back up and running, Warren Ellis found a very interesting glitch. It’s comical in a somewhat disturbing way. Reminds me of a cross between a Matrix agents eye, and Regan MacNeil’s eyes from the movie The Exorcist.
