Emerio and His Army of Glitches

Emerios Cute Fuzzy
When the new Army of Two: The 40th Day demo came out I bet forum member emerio thought it would be good to get one or two glitches out of it.  But ladies and gentlemen, he didn’t get just one or two glitches out of it, he got an incredible mind-blowing EIGHT videos, and counting!  Now, if i were emerio’s Playstation 3 right now I would be making a little noise, while popping up with a trophy for all his hard work on the demo.  Hopefully, this is a small dose of what is to come when emerio picks up the full version of the new army of two game. Check out all Emerio’s glitches here in this thread.

"New Divide" The best Glitching tool ever?

September 27th, 2009 · SQUIDMACK · Comments Off

Written by:Scottyy.Fx

Ahh Glitching this is what kept me on the box for as long as i can remember. I loved glitching, everything about it, but to be a better glitcher involves thinking on the editors front.  What they dont want us to do, and how do we do it.

That is exactly why editing your own maps to see if you can find a glitch on your map is a great idea.  It’s just like practicing glitches.  The best part is when you find all the glitches on the map you can make another…or a campaign, or a whole different game! Its all possible.

[THESTORY]
OK, the final release of my fuel depot remake I have been working on this for a couple of weeks tweaking this and that and getting my head around Unreal editor. I have had about 20 attempts at this, and I had to remake lighting for each one, and trust me thats annoying. I have to right click every single bloody surface and choose a texture gradient colour or w/e. I really hope you enjoy this video.
I am not releasing this yet, because I need to recolour everything … *Rolls Eyes*

Say Hello to hello6470

June 2nd, 2009 · SQUIDMACK · Comments Off

On May 23 people were not expecting anything out of the ordinary. Then came new forum member hello6470 skating his way into GlitchBlog with some mind-blowing tricks. Now The GlitchBlog community needs something special to really be impressed, and hello6470 managed it: a full two videos of Aggressive Inline glitches, that’s just over fifteen minutes of pure glitching! Plus the glitches in the video are great with falling under the map, inside buildings and a glitch that looks like your character is dry humping concrete (0.13 video 1). Congratulations hello6470 you have earned front page status.

Take that education!

May 3rd, 2009 · SQUIDMACK · Comments Off

Post written by: nickncs cP

Forum user PeeWee can’t just revise, he has to glitch and revise at the same time! While studying for his ICT GCSE using an interactive navigator he managed to yes, glitch out of the map. Now this may be the first ever glitch on an educational program so for this he earns this front page post and a massive well done from me!  To do this glitch PeeWee  walks into a wall close to a loading room and gets slipped along the wall and past the loading point and out of the map, all I can say is that I think that wall must have been made out of soap or something to be that slippy. Once out of the map PeeWee explains that you can free roam anywhere. Good luck on your GCSEs PeeWee, I hope you do better then what I got.

You can go check out the thread on this glitch by clicking this sentence

GlichMania.com features glitches, exploits, Easter eggs, and more

February 17th, 2009 · SQUIDMACK · Comments Off

I recently caught up with the owner of GlitchMania.com to ask him a few questions about his take on glitching, and hear a bit about what inspired him to start glitching.

GlitchBlog: Do you remember what got you into glitching?

GlitchMania: I was playing Team Doubles on Halo 3 on Guardian. Someone hit me with a hammer and it launched me on top of the map. I thought that was a pretty cool spot to be in… especially for people like me who like to snipe. So I tried until I could voluntarily accomplish that glitch. I attached the video of that glitch below. It may be more of a tip or trick. Nevertheless it’s what got me started. (There are other ways to accomplish that glitch.)

GlitchBlog: What games do you like to glitch the most?

GlitchMania:  I enjoy Glitching on Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 the most. I don’t know why, I guess I just like those games the best. They’re very original, the Xbox Live aspect of those games are my favorite.

GlitchBlog: Do you have any tips for people who are new to the glitching craze, or should I say glitch mania that is growing so quickly?

GlitchMania:  I think the best Glitching tip I could give would be this… When you learn a glitch that can be used in actual gameplay you may be tempted not to attempt that particular glitch during gameplay (someone might kill you while your trying to accomplish that glitch.) But if you learn to incorporate that glitch during gameplay I can’t tell you how effective that will be.

GlitchBlog: GlitchMania has a great layout, and is very user friendly.  Do you have any advise for glitchers who want to create their own database, or website?

GlitchMania: First of all keep it original. Abstract websites usually don’t do well. Use free internet tools especially youtube. As it can drive traffic to your site, you can also use it to embed video glitches to your website (that’s the basics of website building.) Make your website very user oriented and give visitors a reason to come back. Also, when creating glitch video’s for youtube try your best to make a nice video. With high quality video, if possible, and good quality sound. This kind of video will get more hits, and better ratings.

GlitchBlog: What is the best way to keep up with all that is going on at GlitchMania?

GlitchMania: I have a Free Email Newsletter people can sign up to receive updates on the latest video game glitches.

It was good getting to know another fellow glitcher with the passion for long nights, and bloody thumbs.  He had some interesting answers, as well as some great insight.  I think that, most of all, it is just good to know we are not the only group out there who will spend hours trying to jump a wall.

GlitchMania is accepting glitches from the public.  If you would like to contribute to the growing database just head on over, and follow the instructions on how to post.

YourPrivateArea is "Going Out With a Bang"

January 23rd, 2009 · SQUIDMACK · Comments Off

This is a truly bittersweet post for me to make. It is great to see a new Saints Row glitch video from YourPrivateArea. I enjoy his videos immensely, and without fail. They are positively the most creative videos coming from the glitching community, with a style we should all try to learn from. This video is another great one with a list of seven tricks and glitches, but I am shocked to tell you that this new video is his “farewell video” to Saints Row 1. It’s true, he really is saying this will be it.

I could have done the obvious thing by asking YourPrivateArea when/if he planned to start working on another game (Saints Row 2). Instead I decided to simply ask him for a comment on his latest thread entitled “Going out with a bang”. I will leave you with his response…

“A wise man once said, “If you build it, they will come.” I don’t know what that has to do with me, but the point is that I made my vids for true Saints Row and glitch fans. Nothing wrong with a good CAMV one in a while, but it takes a special class of gamer to appreciate a glitch vid. In the end I just really hoped people would look at Saints Row, and games in general, in a different way. Like when Neo sees the Matrix code for the first time. Ok that’s a bad example, but you know what I mean…hopefully. The crazy thing is that alot of my favorite music just seemed to fit, and maybe even drove, my glitch finds. It’s a mixed blessing though because YouTube made me change some of some of the songs I used. Cry That’s ok, they just don’t know that you Don’t Mess With YourPrivateArea!”

Since when do ninjas fall?

January 4th, 2009 · SQUIDMACK · Comments Off

Written by: nickncs cP

You guys know emerio right? That nice guy who hangs around the forum. Well he just posted a cool glitch he found in the new ninja blade demo. He uses those awesome ninja skills doing crazy jumps up though a ceiling (is this ninja a magician as well?) Then he dose a few more ninja moves to get over a invisible barrier, starts to fall under the map, then gets stuck on another barrier. When emerio tries to show off some more cool ninja skills he ends up looking like he is diving into a pool! emerio, that’s one crazy glitch you should be proud of!

The best of Halo CE glitching

December 21st, 2008 · SQUIDMACK · Comments Off

Halo was the game that really got the ball rolling on the whole video game glitching craze.  It’s only natural that we still enjoy watching the glitches that many think of as the best any game has offered since.  That is why GlitchBlog forum member Lance has released a series of compilations that show the very best glitches found in the game.  The videos are put together nicely, and even includes tutorials for many of the glitches.

Check out these threads from the GlitchBlog forums to watch the very best of Halo glitching.
Halo: The Pillar Of Autumn Glitches

Halo: The Pillar Of Autumn Glitches II
Halo: Assault On Control Room Glitches Parts I, II, III

Halo: Assault On The Control Room Glitches IV

Halo: Two Betrayals Glitches

 Halo: The Maw Glitches

This is not all of his videos, but they are my personal favorites.  If you want to see the other Halo videos Lance has made, just visit the forums.  I think he has about every glitch ever found in Halo documented in his other threads, so be sure to check them out.

A Rampage of New Halo 2 Glitches

December 1st, 2008 · SQUIDMACK · Comments Off

I will always hold a special place in my heart for the magic of Halo 2 glitching.  It was the game that got me hooked on the concept, and I am always up for a few nade piles to waste an afternoon.  I always browse the HIH forums to see what kind of things people are doing in Halo 2, but things really hit a slow period around the time Halo 3 was really getting hyped up.  Naturally everyone was distracted with the new toy, and as a result, good old Halo 2 seemed to loose some of it’s spotlight.

After my last visit to HIH’s Halo 2 campaign forum I am happy to say that there are a lot of brand new glitches.  I am talking major stuff!  New areas galore, new techniques that are very effective, and even some odd glitches like one called “The Hanger Was Made For Two” where a phantom is frozen inside the hanger.

Here are the threads that I am most impressed with.

You simply must check out xlax007’s thread Rampage – 19 amazing vids with 14 new unexplored areas. In this unbelievable thread xlax007 uses a technique he calls the BAW launch to reach areas we have never been.  There are 14 areas in this one thread that people have never been to.  I didn’t even think there were 14 areas left to find.  As it turns out there are more than that.

There is also another thread by xlax007 called Attack on the unexplored: 8 new Gravemind areas. The title really sets you up nicely, and the video does a good job filling in all the details along the way. The video also features some great work by x l3ucl x

Another thread over there that tripped me out was SRL’s Bottom of the Hanger thread. Finally, after all this time, someone gets past the barriers, and lives to run around on the bottom. It is amazing that glitches this cool are just being discovered now.

It is amazing to find so much activity among the Halo 2 glitchers, and I can not tell you how cool it has been watching this stuff. You guys really should try to go by HighImpactHalo.org, and the Halo 2 Campaign forums specifically. There you will find even more new stuff. I simply wanted to give a few examples.

GlitchBlog in OXM UK

November 22nd, 2008 · SPJ · Comments Off

Just thought I’d let you all know that GlitchBlog is being featured in a magazine! Ben Talbot from the UK version of the Official Xbox Magazine contacted me a while ago to get my opinion regarding some glitching-related questions, and they are featured in an article in the next issue of the magazine. Don’t worry — I let him know that I don’t have an active role here anymore, and my opinion is that of a “retired glitcher”.

Here’s what Ben has to say about the article on the OXM Blog:

Last but not least I promised to give a big shout out to everyone in the Glitching community. In the latest issue, I’ve written a feature about the people who deliberately find faults in games and why they’re motivated to do it. I found writing it really interesting, hope you enjoy reading it too. The article is illustrated by Chris Judge, the Irish artist behind many top billboard ads at the moment. Very cool.

Gears of War 2: Sky Cannon (SKYDIVER)

November 19th, 2008 · SQUIDMACK · Comments Off

lunerXsoul SGC has posted a great video of a Gears of War 2 glitch that is a must see.  It is called the Sky Cannon, and is one of the best new glitches found in the game.  You can visit his forum thread to post comments, and also visit the videos youtube posting

The following text tutorial is from the videos youtube information.

First grab a smoke grenade and go to the spot that is shown in the video… next throw the nade at the sandbag… before it blows up, roll towards it… while your on the floor hold forward and rapidly press A… your camera should jump over cover but your body should still be on the ground. Move up the stairs by rapidly pressing **LT**… if done correctly your camera should shoot into the air… Lastly, have a friend shoot your body on the floor for about a second, you should then launch up into the air and be able to walk on the sky barrier… be careful because you can get stuck in some areas and when you get shot your heath does not regenerate… HOST CAN DO THIS GLITCH!!!

Gears of War 2 Kung Fu Flip

November 15th, 2008 · SQUIDMACK · Comments Off

Post written by: nickncs cP

Is it a bird, Is it a plane, No its Freaky cP flipping like a mad man. Glitch Blog member xJedi PiMPx, famous for finding the original kung fu flip in Gears Of War, has posted a video of the Kung Fu Flip in it’s sequal, Gears Of War 2. Freaky cP will have you flipping backwards literally with this glitch, just like a ninja! Just remember not to attempt this in real life, you could break something.

Freaky cP was not the only one trying to find the flip on Gow 2. Glitch Blog’s own, snakesnbarrels (A.K.A. Tbs333) has a variation you might want to check out as well…or not.

Sleeping with the fishes on tomb raider

October 30th, 2008 · SQUIDMACK · Comments Off

nickncs cP has submitted the following post for TI2ophy’s thread titled: First real *Tomb Raider Underworld* demo glitch
nickncs cP writes:
As soon as the new tomb raider demo hit earlier, Glitch Blog member TI2ophy ripped it apart by finding one of the coolest glitches seen on a tomb raider game. TI2ophy used his amazing skills with women to make Lara crouch close to a wall and slide off breaking the laws of physics and water, sending Lara Croft to a very detailed underwater world. As TI2ophy explored i expected him to find the underwater city of Rapture or the lost city of Atlantis. I give TI2ophy a two thumbs up for this unique glitch and it would be nice to see him glitching the full game when it hits shops.

Brothers in Arms tricking mega-roundup

October 25th, 2008 · SQUIDMACK · Comments Off

Another WWII game has made it’s way to the masses, and there has been a lot of great glitches to come from it.  With so many different threads about this game popping up in the forums, I thought it was a good time for a roundup.

First off we have the amazing nickncs cP’s efforts with this title.

  • Brothers in Arms Hell’s Highway: telliporter/cover anywhere + more : An excellent thread that demonstrates a technique that allows you to literally teleport across the map.  The result is both practical, and cool.
  • brothers in arms: hells highway: out of underground : Another great glitch from nickncs cP, only this time he is joined by lunerXsoul SGC.
  • brothers in arms: hells highway: out of operation market : Joined by the sheep squad,  nickncs cP finds his way out of the map, and shows just how gigantic it can be outside the maps in this game.
  • Brothers in Arms Hell’s Highway: Out of Lighthouse : Check out the video in this thread to see one of the biggest areas outside of a level, ever.
  • brothers in arms: hells highway: host dummy/host dummy telliporter : An interesting glitch that creates a dummy that can teleport.  The end shows a dummy hopping off into the distance above the lake.
  • brothers in arms: hells highway: Teleporter 2.0/Tank Elevator : The tank elevator featured in this video is my personal favorite glitch from BiA:HH.  Watch close for the moonwalk action in the last seconds of the video.
  • Next up we have the ever impressive efforts of [DTG]. I’m sure you knew emerio, and Tbs333 would have a little something for us.

This title has been a lot of fun around here, and this still is only part of the threads on this game to be found in the forum. If you want to see more drop on by and check out the other threads. Great job to everyone involved in these threads, and the ones to come.

    GlitchBlog Celebrates it's First Birthday!

    October 13th, 2008 · SQUIDMACK · Comments Off

Recently GlitchBlog turned one year old.  It has been an exciting, and fun year full of a lot of interesting glitches from next generation consoles, as well as a few of the classics.  The community has grown into a close nit group of glitchers who are very creative, and for the most part quite friendly (except for snakes n barrels, but that is just how he shows love).  We have enjoyed the glitches of clans such as DTG, Silent Glitchers, Chaotic Perfection, Clan FYR, and others, not to mention the individual glitchers who post new stuff regularly.  It is our hope that the next year will bring new members, new games, and more glitches than anyone could have imagined.  We would also like to thank all the people who visit GlitchBlog, and that goes triple for the members, who make this such an addictive community. It is going to be a great year!

    Noggin surfing out of "Lighthouse"

    October 3rd, 2008 · SQUIDMACK · Comments Off

GlitchBlog member nickncs has been caught literally using his head (or someone else’s head at least) to gain access to areas outside the developers intentions.  I can identify the head that nickncs was riding across the level on.  It was a great guy who goes by the name: LunerXSoul, who you might already know, and this video could not have come together without his forehead.  So, he rides LunerXSouls head over to a tank, jumps from his head to the tank, and then finally he rides the tank to an area where he can jump from the tank to the outside of the level.  The video also includes some exploration that shows the abundance of various buildings, and some large bodies of water. You can check out all the fun in their forum entry. Insert random “use your head” joke here.

[DTG] cracks Mercenaries 2 wide open, and then some

    September 4th, 2008 · SQUIDMACK · Comments Off

The unusually talented clan [DTG] has been working hard, and finding some interesting things in Mercenaries 2.  One glitch video seems to crack the game wide open, glitchwise.  (Hey, “Glitchwise” would be a sweet clan name.)  The video shows how to use a motorcycle to clip yourself into, and/or on top of any building.  Another video they have released features a nice place for some excellent rooftop exploring. Their next glitch video kinda shifts gears a bit, showing a funny slide glitch, as well as a way to go gunless. You have got to admire the excellent work coming out of [DTG] labs these days. Keep an eye on our forums to make sure you catch all their work.
