Taking the chain to Glitchville

March 29, 2010 | by SPJglitches |

And the torrential downpour of God of War III glitches continues. You know, I’d totally stop writing about these… but they keep being so cool and different every time! And sorry about the poor attempt at a pun!

Anyway, findlestick is back with another great glitch that involves both grappling and the “jet dash” glitch mentioned a few days ago to do some crazy invisible floor exploring over a raging sea. It’s a quick video, but definitely worth the watch.

Pause your way out of prison

March 29, 2010 | by Complex |

Esteemed glitcher TI2ophy has posted an amazing barrier breaker on his YouTube channel for the game Prison Break: The Conspiracy. In the video he uses one of his specialty pause glitches to find a way to break through any barrier in the game.

Check out the video below:

SPJ -- I’m glad you mentioned “specialty” pause glitches, Complex. Before this I have never seen a pause glitch used to break through geometry like that. It’s always been for disrupting load zones in the past; this one is truly something special.

Glitchers in good company

xERx DarkFallen of clan Eternal Revolution put up a video on the Senseney07 YouTube account showing some exploration of “Zero Dark Thirty,” except in a different spot than emerio’s discovery. Watch below:

Kratos is so mad, he learned to fly!

March 27, 2010 | by SPJglitches |

findlestick on YouTube made a fantastic video and text tutorial for performing the “jet dash” glitch in God of War III that allows Kratos to fly great distances. I recommend going to YouTube so you can see the annotations, but you can also check out the video below:

Chaotically speedy speedrunning

March 25, 2010 | by SPJglitches |

I’ve recently been playing the Xbox version of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory as part of Rebel FM’s Game Club, and decided to see if anyone had tried to speedrun the game. The answer? Yep, and pretty damn incredibly too.

Mathew Thompson at Speed Demos Archive ran through the game on Expert difficulty in a staggeringly quick 1:16:34. That’s only a little longer than it takes me to beat an average level on Normal! If any of you have played the game I’d strongly recommend checking out the level runs… crazy stuff.

Turning gears skyward

March 25, 2010 | by SPJglitches |

EmericaxDGx found a new glitch on Jacinto in Gears of War 2 that appears on the JAMIExELITE / Darkness Glitchers YouTube account. With this insanely weird and complicated “SkyWalker” glitch you are able to walk atop an invisible ceiling. Check out the video:

Visionary glitching of Necrovision

If it wasn’t for SPJ I wouldn’t have found this guy!

French glitcher Spikeee1337 shows us glitches in a game called Necrovision, including launches and exploration outside of maps. This guy is not very well known but he is very talented. While you’re stopping off at his channel check out his other videos and subscribe!

A trifecta of patches, here or on the way [update]

March 23, 2010 | by SPJglitches |

The fine folks at Destructoid have written about three new patches for popular games that are either here already or coming very soon.

A patch for Heavy Rain is coming soon that will fix the freezing issues people were having, among other things. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Aliens Vs Predator will also be updated soon; this patch will primarily be to make “weapon tweaks and [provide] faster matchmaking.” Finally, the PC version of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has just received a patch that fixes a whole array of minor issues in the game.

It’s nice to see these games are getting fixed up!

Update 3/23: It appears the PC version of Aliens Vs Predator has also received a new patch.

Waking up outside the level

March 22, 2010 | by SPJglitches |

DfeatMe on YouTube just uploaded a glitch video for the recently released Dragon Age: Origins -- Awakening expansion, finding a way outside of The Blackmarsh and to some cool places outside of the normal play area. Watch and enjoy!

Kratos goes swimming

March 22, 2010 | by SPJglitches |

It seems like Kratos enjoys a bit more than just killing gods and slaughtering innocent civilians… he’s a swimmer too!

YouTube user AKheon found a neat glitch in The Caverns of God of War III (one that appears in other forms in the previous God of War games) that involves clipping through a wall, falling through the floor into water, and then swimming into a previously air-filled room. Crazy stuff! Watch the video embedded below, or head to the YouTube page for more information.

After the jump you’ll find a video from findlestick, who manages a similar feat after Hercules.
